I came to Reiki through my own trial by fire—a slow burn of many years spent chronically ill, simply surviving my own existence. I experienced a wide range of severe hormonal imbalances, digestive dysfunctions, profound fatigue, infertility, autoimmune conditions, and more. As my symptoms expanded their intensity I saw specialists and explored every modality that I thought might hold the healing answers I sought but none of them granted me access to the health and freedom I was so desperately seeking.
Some of what I attempted brought temporary relief, yet my symptoms always returned and with them my frustration and confusion, I was at a loss to understand what was really happening to me. Several years ago I reached my lowest point, I was severely underweight and deeply depressed with no end in sight to the debilitating symptoms I was experiencing. I had given up everything I loved, exercise, food, hobbies, friendships, I simply had no energy left for the things that had always brought joy and comfort in my life.
Exhausted and at the end of my rope, I had had enough. I was done trying to "figure out" my symptoms and I was done relying on others to give me the answers I was looking for. So I stopped pushing - emotionally and physically - and it was only then that the pieces began to slowly come together.
I stopped demanding my burned-out body to perform. I stopped ignoring my grieving heart. I stopped exceeding my very obvious limits and began to allow the pain I carried for so long to surface without avoidance. I allowed myself to exist, fully, in the feelings buried in my body, in the waves of emotions that were so deeply woven into my symptoms. I began to tune into the rhythms and patterns that had been speaking to me for so long.
I began to listen. And I began to heal.

I have met so many people along my own path to healing who are carrying stories that feel remarkably familiar. Life can move toward change and demand adaptation faster than our nervous systems have the capacity to integrate. We are continually asked to do more and be more—and somewhere along the way, our internal systems begin to compensate.
Over time, those compensations can show up not only in the body, but in the way we move through our lives. We become disconnected from our own rhythms, our limits, our needs, and sometimes even from the things that once made us feel most alive.
Maybe you've had a difficult week. Maybe you've been navigating a particularly challenging season for years. Wherever you are, you and your body deserve care. You deserve the opportunity to feel more vital, more grounded, and more connected to your capacity to create a life that feels like your own.
What you seek is seeking you—the health, the love, the gratitude, the compassion. Sometimes we simply need a safe space in which to begin to unwind and untangle the feelings and experiences that we tucked away into the fabric of our mind, organs, and muscles. Reiki has been an integral part of my own healing journey, and I feel deeply grateful and honored to now share this practice with my family, friends, and clients.

In reclaiming my health, the part of my life I missed most was travel. :)
Recently, I embarked on a two-month solo journey through Thailand and Japan. In Thailand, I spent six weeks immersed in Sensory Biomechanics and Muay Thai at an increidble gym. It was a deeply empowering experience to feel my body become stronger and more capable, to learn new skills with ease, and to rediscover the joy of movement. Outside of the gym, I wandered through lush jungles, had incredible wildlife experiences, and deepened my ever-present love and reverence for Mother Nature.
Japan was a spontaneous addition on my journey home, it offered something entirely different: an invitation to slow down and to become deeply immersed in my own senses. Without an agenda, I followed my inner compass, wandered vibrant streets, and discovered hidden gems along the way. I visited many ancient shrines and temples, but it was Meiji Shrine that spoke most clearly to my heart. To spend time in Japan, surrounded by the culture and history from which Reiki emerged, was deeply humbling. It gave me an opportunity to experience these sacred places not simply as a traveler, but as a practitioner—and to listen more deeply to what they continue to awaken within me.
